How much does an AI receptionist for a dental clinic cost? (Singapore & Malaysia, 2026)

By Zaifee, founder, C-Vids Productions

AI receptionists for dental clinics in Singapore and Malaysia cost from about US$88 to about US$400 a month in 2026. What drives the price, the hidden fees, and how to compare.

Short answer: in Singapore and Malaysia in 2026, an AI receptionist for a dental clinic costs from about US$88 to about US$400 per month. The price depends mostly on three things: which channel patients use (WhatsApp costs more to run than web chat or Telegram), whether conversations are capped, and whether the AI answers phone calls.

Prices below were checked on 6 October 2026. They change often, so follow the source links before you decide.

The three kinds of product you will see

1. Chat receptionists with a flat monthly price. The AI answers patient messages on a web chat link and messaging apps, and books into your calendar. Example: Dentalys, $88 (Starter), $168 (Pro) or $288 (Clinic+, multi-doctor) per month in USD, with no per-conversation fees.

2. WhatsApp chatbots priced by conversation volume. Popular in Malaysia and Singapore because patients already use WhatsApp. Example: DentalBot AI lists RM399/month for 500 conversations, RM799 for 2,000 and RM1,599 for unlimited (about US$97, US$195 and US$390 at about RM4.1 per US dollar). General WhatsApp inbox platforms such as SleekFlow sell AI plans from US$149/month billed yearly, or US$199 billed monthly, for 500 monthly active contacts. On top of the subscription, Meta charges per WhatsApp template message (see "Hidden costs").

3. Phone (voice) AI receptionists. These answer calls and are mostly built for the US market, with practice-management-software integration and HIPAA compliance. We could not verify a current published price for one on the check date, so none is quoted here.

An AI receptionist does not replace your front desk; it covers the evenings, weekends and repetitive questions your team cannot get to.

What drives the price

  • Channel. WhatsApp Business Platform messages carry Meta fees; Telegram and web chat do not.
  • Conversation caps. Capped plans are cheap until a busy month pushes you into the next tier.
  • Number of doctors. Booking across several doctors' calendars usually costs more.
  • Voice. Answering phone calls costs far more to run than text chat.
  • Practice software integration. Writing appointments into a dental practice-management system is common in US products and rarely needed for clinics booking from Google Calendar.

Hidden costs to ask about

  • Meta per-message fees (WhatsApp only). Meta charges per delivered template message, by country. Rates reported for 1 October 2026: Singapore about US$0.073 per marketing message and US$0.016 per utility message (for example, a reminder sent outside the 24-hour customer-service window). One provider reports that from 1 October 2026 only the first 1,000 service replies a month are free; check Meta's current rate card.
  • WhatsApp number hosting fees on some platforms.
  • Setup or onboarding fees.
  • Overage charges when you pass a conversation or contact cap.
  • Annual-only discounts that lock you in.

Where Dentalys fits, honestly

Dentalys is a flat-price chat receptionist. It answers on your clinic's own chat link and QR code and on Telegram, books into Google Calendar, and sends 24-hour and 1-hour reminders by Telegram or email (on Telegram, patients reply 1 to confirm or 2 to reschedule; email reminders have Confirm and I need to reschedule buttons). It replies in the patient's language, with 12 clinic default languages including English, Malay and Chinese. There are no per-conversation fees, billing is monthly, and the 14-day free trial includes Pro features with no credit card.

What it does not do today: WhatsApp, phone calls, or writing into a dental practice-management system. Instagram DM and Facebook Messenger are coming soon. If your patients only ever message you on WhatsApp, a WhatsApp product will fit better today.

Five questions to ask any vendor

  • 1. Is there a cap on conversations, contacts or bookings, and what happens when I hit it?
  • 2. Which channels are live today, and which are "coming soon"?
  • 3. Who pays the Meta/WhatsApp message fees?
  • 4. What does the AI do when it cannot answer, and how does my team take over?
  • 5. Where is patient data stored, and how long is it kept?
